Gallery - 1981 Trek 710
This 710 is owned by Michael Ignosci. Michael writes
"I picked it up at a garage sale about 4 years ago for $45. Crumbling
tires, rusted/frozen cables, the seat was literally shredded, nothing
worked on it! Almost forgot, missing the front wheel but had a/the hub.
All I saw was that it was a Trek with Reynolds 531 tubing, no dents
or bends and a few scratches. I knew that it had potential. I have spent
a lot of hours cleaning and rebuilding my Trek and enjoyed every moment
of it. Now I get to ride it!"
The serial number list shows the frame (003500) to be
a Model 710, size 22", brazed early in 1981. From the Shimano 600
components it had when Michael found it, it could have been sold as
a 716 bike, but it also had some components that should have come with
a 715. It also could have been sold as a bare frame and built up with
the components originally found on the bike, either by the local bike
shop or by the first owner.
