Gallery - Michael Johnson's 1985 Trek 660

Michael's story about his "new" bike is not quite as good as the antique car collector's dream of discovering a Model "T" abandoned in a farmer's barn - but darned close.

Michael writes: "I bought my Trek 660 about six months ago (Spring 2002). It was still in the original box. The owner owned a bike shop and had it stored in his garage. I had to replace the Modolo brake pads, tires and rear Ofmega derailler. The derailler was made from a composite and it had cracked. I changed the pedals to clipless but kept the original 600 pedals. The original leather seat was cracked so I replaced it with a Brooks saddle. I kept the original seat. I paid $50.00 for the bike. I ride 100+ miles a week. The 531 frame is fabulous."
